FBC Okmulgee began out of a missions movement. Historic baptists and faithful christians started the church to reach members of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation in 1901. That missionary spirit has carried over to today. Our vision is to have mission partnerships at an international, national, and local level. We must all answer the call to go. Where will you go?

China Mission
Members of First Baptist Okmulgee have joined with Visiting Orphans to live out the commandment of James 1:27
Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
We seek to build lasting and mutually beneficial relationships within state run orphanages in China. It is our hope to build good, strong and long term relationships with the orphanage staff, community, and children. We desire to make a lasting impact on the lives we touch. We share the love of Jesus through providing for physical needs as well as sending loving arms to meet the needs of the lonely. Many of the children we minister to have special needs.

Our church’s commitment to missions in Mexico began in 2005. It began with Vacation Bible Schools and led to multiple construction trips to work on the Baptist Seminary in Zihuatanejo. Our work expanded to Chilpancingo where we worked with four churches in the city to make evangelistic visits in their areas of town. Cooperating with the local churches we branched out to Chilapa where we held Vacation Bible School, passed out hundreds of Spanish New Testaments and participated in prayer walks.
We have spent two years working with the First Baptist Church of Chilpancingo to plant a church in Apango. We have held Vacation Bible School, passed out Spanish New Testaments, made evangelistic visits, and held services in the home of one family that is committed to the Lord.
With every copy of the Bible we get to share we claim God’s promise in Isaiah 55:11 “So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”

We are equipping and mobilizing FBC Okmulgee members to make disciples among those in physical and spiritual need in our city.

Local Church Partnerships
FBC Okmulgee has a rich history of helping other local churches in the region. We are now helping Immanuel Baptist Church in Henryetta with their Vacation Bible School.
